The best way to make an acrylic painting?
I paint a picture with acrylic paint for my wife's birthday. So far, I created a good base layer of foam roller, paint using an opacity of 80% (so it is still important that we breathing). Who has dried, I prepared to add shadows and highlights. Would it be better to bring the total coverage, or do I leave a little transparency? I'm also playing with the idea of putting things on the black lines to create a kind of cartoon look a bit at the end. What would I use the better for that?
Unlike oil, Acrylic paints is unlikely to split or crack with the thickest layers (in Unless you get carried away by impasto strokes over 1 / 2 inch thick). Since you are considering making a comic aspect to the painting, you may want to resist a mixture of lot (which is anyway difficult to acrylic because it dries so quickly and not re-dissolve in water). Regarding the lines, you may be a good marker notes artist often used by illustrators and commercial artists. It would be much easier to control that using a brush, and the thickness of the line would be consistent because they are in cartoons. A good brand, I found is Berol Prismacolor. They are relatively resistant to light and have two tips of different sizes for each marker. In general, acrylics are suitable for transparency - Non-plastic nature. The watercolor is a transparent medium. One of the interesting effects that could be treated with acrylic however, paint an opaque layer over another and dry, use a little alcohol on a cloth to dissolve some of the upper layer so that the underlying color to show through.
