Abstract art is completely non-objective or non-figurative. Abstract art is without a recognizable object, unrelated to anything outside or trying to "look" something. In contrast, color and shape (and often equipment and support) are the subject of abstract painting.
The most common interpretation of abstract art as a phenomenon the 20th century. Abstract painting appeared in almost the same time (1911) across borders and continents of the cultures that are active in Western culture. Therfore, can not pin that said the first modernist abstract painter. It could have been Robert Delaunay in Paris or the American Arthur Dove, the Russian Wassily Kandinsky and Kasimir Malevich, Dutch painter Piet Mondrian, Franz Kupka, Balla in Italy and many others. More than an invention of a person, abstraction in modern painting appears as a cultural phenomenon.
With abstract painters master prices have reached exorbitant levels, the middle and the young generation has seen the world and advance on the price front.
